Building Excellence, Maintaining Trust

Our approach to Structural Engineering design is underpinned by 5 principles which we like to call SPARK.

Sustainable

The Institution of Structural Engineers has joined other professional bodies in declaring a global climate emergency. We take our responsibility to the environment and the climate seriously. This means designing buildings to be able to use lower-carbon grades of steel and concrete, seeking to use sustainable materials such as timber, and collaborating with other consultants to allow the structural design to incorporate climate friendly solutions. It also means that we seek to reduce office waste by issuing documents in an electronic format.

Professional

We are a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, which demonstrates our commitment to maintaining professional standards. We undertake our duties in line with the IStructE’s code of conduct, and present our designs in a coherent and detailed manner to ensure that specifications and technical information is clear to the Contractor and Client team.

Approachable

In any project, communication is key. We aim to be responsive to all enquiries, whether by email or by phone, and we do this in a friendly, open, and accessible manner. Should any queries arise on site then we make ourselves available for discussion with the Client, Architect, or Contractor as a matter of course - once we have provided a design we see it through to completion. In short, we aim to be the most user-friendly Engineers you ever employ.

Reliable

When you have a building project, you need a Structural Engineer you can rely on. We honour the commitments we make to clients with timescales and details, and we respond to any and every query in order to give our clients comfort and confidence that due care and attention is being given to every design.

Knowledge

We are committed to expanding our knowledge base, and as a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers we complete 30 hours of CPD per year as standard. We use our breadth of experience to complete designs in a detailed and suitable way, and when complex issues arise we are able to assess matters in detail to ensure that the structure is buildable and safe.
